Edgefield announces new policy for 2024 – No Outside Chairs

November 10, 2023 by No Comments

Recently, Edgefield Concerts announced that they would be doing their first event of 2024. After looking through their website, it looks as though there has also been a major change in policy. This involves outside chairs, which have been banned.

On the Edgefield website, it states: ‘Starting in 2024, outside chairs will not be allowed in the venue. Venue rental chairs, outside seat cushions of up to 16” x 16”, beach towels of up to 30” x 60”, and portable stadium seat cushioning and/or Crazy Creek seating will be allowed in specific areas of the venue.’

News of the change in policy quickly spread to Reddit where Portlanders weren’t happy with this policy and blamed it on profiteering. Here, one user wrote: “How do they manage to make the rules even worse every year? It’s so damn expensive too. Parking sucks. Leaving sucks. They always have a pretty impressive lineup though. Excited for providence park next summer. It will also be expensive but at least we can take the max.”

Despite the banning of chairs, Edgefield did not clarify why they banned chairs. Irrespective of their reasoning, you can understand why customers may be annoyed at this as some people don’t enjoy standing for hours. Unfortunately, this policy doesn’t look like it will be going away anytime soon.
