Kim Reynolds blasted after photo with Condoleezza Rice
Recently, Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds was photographed next to Condoleezza Rice. Here, she uploaded the photo onto her Twitter account and wrote: ‘I’ve always admired @CondoleezzaRice. Her dedication to public service, poise, and willingness to do what is right for our country.’ This didn’t go down too well but generated a lot of attention. In total, over 370 people commented on the photo with many of them using it to criticize the Iowa Governor.
Among the criticism, many Republicans branded Reynolds a RINO, a term coined by her once-ally Donald Trump which means ‘Republican in name only’. Based on this, it looks as though Reynolds has her share of critics on either side of the political spectrum.
This photo didn’t help her image either, with one user replying: “Not a good look. Starting to really question supporting you as an Iowan.”
Similarly, another user added: “Admiration for Condoleezza Rice? Let’s not forget her pivotal role in the unfounded WMD claims that fueled the Iraq War, costing us lives and treasure for a cause proven to be entirely false. Is this the kind of ‘dedication to public service’ we’re honoring now? What exactly are we celebrating expertise in deception or failure in diplomacy? #corrupt”
Regardless of your thoughts on Kim Reynolds, it looks as though this photo was a PR blunder and one that she may regret.
