Beloved Philly Ice Cream shop to close after 11 years of business

The beloved small-batch ice pop and pie purveyors at Lil Pop Shop have announced their bittersweet decision to shutter their original storefront on 265 S. 44th Street in West Philadelphia. In a social media post, owner Jeanne Chang stated that the closure will allow the business to focus on catering and event-based sales, which have been a staple of the Lil Pop Shop brand for years.

While this closure marks the end of an era, Chang’s innovative creations will continue to be a summertime staple at local events such as West Craft Fest and Nature Nights at The Woodlands.

Writing on Instagram, Lil Pop Shop said: “To our dear customers & community -We have decided that our last day at our retail shop on 44th Street will be December 2nd.” The full statement can be seen below in more detail.

Over the years, Lil Pop Shop earned stellar reviews and was known for being one of West Philly’s best ice cream shops. Not only this but they also made nice pies too. The final day will take place on December 2nd. However, there is still time to place Thanksgiving pie pre-orders and say goodbye to the iconic shop. Currently, it is not known what will replace the original Lil Pop Shop venue.
