New Mexican Restaurant to open this month

In 2023, a restaurant can serve as a culinary hub for patrons, a gathering place for the community, and a source of livelihood and pride for its creators. This is the vision for Foko, a restaurant that blends Mexican and Southern flavors, which isn’t merely a spot for Louisville residents to enjoy the popular Wake-Up Burrito.

Joshua Gonzales and Francisco Garcia are in the process of launching a refreshed version of their restaurant, which had previously operated within Logan Street Market before its closure last month. Patrons were always met with warm welcomes and radiant smiles.

The pair are in the final stages of readying their new venue at 991 Logan St., while their bakery, La Pana Bakery y Cafe, continues to serve customers at its original location in Logan Street Market at 1001 Logan St. Images of their new location can be seen on their Instagram account.

Situated in what used to be the Tim Faulkner Gallery in the Shelby Park neighborhood, the new location boasts a bright and open atmosphere. It promises to be a place buzzing with positive energy, where guests can perch at the breakfast bar or lounge on couches in the communal area, all while savoring standout dishes and beverages from a menu that celebrates the culinary crossroads of the American South and Mexico.
