For several years, Daily Planet coffee shop operated out of Hertel Ave. During this time, it earned a good reputation as one of Buffalo’s premiere coffee shops before closing last year. Since then, it has gained a new owner. According to one Buffalo resident who recently visited the newly opened venue, it was described as ‘It’s like if you bought Daily Planet off of Wish.’

Here, the local took to Reddit to give their own review which was less than complimentary. According to them, the new owner served $2 hot dogs on Halloween Night, before serving badly tasting coffee during the daytime.

They claimed this was to do with the owner being new to owning a shop, who also used hand-written menus. Perhaps it was best summed up by the image below which shows the venue being closed yet simultaneously open while only accepting cash.

On a similar note, its opening hours haven’t yet been confirmed and overall it has quite a random feel about it. Nonetheless, hopefully, this review was wrong and as with all new business owners, there will still be enough time to change things around and improve if their hearts and efforts are put in the right place. Nonetheless, based on this early review, the re-opening of Daily Planet doesn’t exactly sound promising.
