This weekend saw a very disrespectful sight after an ofrenda altar was callously destroyed at the Rotunda. According to the photographer, this took place at some point between 5-11 PM however, the culprit is still at large. Due to the nature of the vandalism, the reality is that they will probably never be apprehended. Nonetheless, locals are currently in the process of checking nearby CCTV cameras to try and find out more information.

News of the incident quickly spread on social media where people were quick to condemn the disrespectful sight. Here, before and after images showed the altar before its destruction. According to this person, it was set on fire before the Philadelphia Fire Department turned up to stop it.

On the subject of social media, users also questioned the motives of the culprit and why they would do such a pointless, destructive act. This clearly upset a lot of people and shows a darker side to Philadelphia.
