Oskar Blues Brewery’s taproom in North Austin closed its doors on Nov. 2. Situated at 10420 Metric Blvd., Ste 150, Austin, this branch of the Colorado-origin craft brewery had been operational since 2016, offering a variety of beers like Dale’s Pale Ale and Oskar Blues IPA. Because of its seven year run, it’s fair to say that this taproom was fairly popular among Austin locals.

As of now, representatives from Oskar Blues Brewery have not issued a statement. The physical venue is shut, and the brewery’s contact details are no longer functional. At this point in time, it is not known why the venue suddenly shut as there was no reason given. Similarly, it is not known what will replace the venue either.

News of the closure quickly spread to social media. Here, users speculated about its reasons for closing and debated whether this was financially or personally motivated. Undeniably for Austin craft lovers, this will come as a loss.

The brewery’s listing has been taken down from its official website, and its social media profiles on Instagram and Facebook have been deactivated. Furthermore, the Central Texas Bluegrass Association’s 45th annual Meeting and Show, which was scheduled for Nov. 12 at the taproom, has been postponed due to the closure, as confirmed by an event coordinator.
