Yesterday, Salt Lake City residents witnessed an unusual spectacle as two military helicopters elegantly soared over the city’s skyline. This isn’t a typical sight in Salt Lake City, where a local managed to capture footage of the two helicopters zooming past. This view included a Black Hawk and Apache, which were accompanied by a third helicopter which was the UofU Airmed ship (the smaller of the three aircraft).

Not only are these helicopters incredibly fast, but they also produce a significant amount of noise, which likely drew attention to their presence. The image was initially shared on Reddit, where the uploader was curious about their purpose in the city.

While this might appear strange, there’s a straightforward reason behind it. A Reddit user clarified the helicopters’ presence, commenting: “They are on their way to the U of U game that started at 12. I just saw them fly over my house near the U. One of them had the U of U logo on the bottom of it.” The last comment was clearly referring to the Airmed helicopter that was in attendance.

So, the mystery is solved. This was due to the game as the helicopters prepared for a flyover. It was undoubtedly a captivating sight and a unique experience for those in Salt Lake City and at the game at the moment.
