A recent video circulated on social media showed two huge coyotes in a Boston neighborhood. The footage was captioned: ‘Warning – two very large coyotes seen off Bigelow St in Brighton and very comfortable with the environment. Please be careful out walking and don’t leave your pets out alone.’

As a result, Boston residents are expressing concerns over the increasing presence of coyotes in their streets and backyards. Here, numerous residents from other areas of the city recently claimed to see coyotes in their own neighborhoods. This has led many to adjust their daily activities.

This news was first broken on the Brighton Allston Improvement Association Facebook page. As seen, for coyotes these are certainly large in stature. On a similar note, locals are encouraged to contact the Boston Animal Care Department if you see these animals roaming around humans.

To avoid attracting coyotes, residents are advised to leash their pets and eliminate potential food sources such as garbage or bird feeders. If confronted by a coyote, it’s suggested to scare it away by shouting or creating loud noises, such as clanging pots together. Despite their large appearance, coyotes typically don’t attack humans if unprovoked. Nonetheless, they are also known to prey on domestic animals such as cats and dogs.
