Popular market & bakery closes due to grease fire

A Plano deli and bakery has temporarily closed. Eatzi’s (located at W. Parker Road on the tollway) has shut its doors for the time being and eyewitnesses noticed a sign on the door that said it had violated City ordinances by the Environmental Health Department. Eyewitnesses on the scene also spotted a number of Plano fire trucks in attendance. Later, Eatzi’s confirmed the closure on their Twitter account and wrote: ‘Due to a small grease fire, our Plano location is temporarily closed for repairs. Our Plano location is scheduled to reopen early next week.’

Based on the sounds of things, it could have been a lot worse, and if unattended, the fire could have quickly spread and caused more long-term damage. Thankfully, no one was injured during the fire either. Eatzi’s is a gourmet food market that offers a crazy selection of freshly prepared meals, ready-to-eat dishes, and high-quality ingredients.

Think of it as a cross between a fancy grocery store, a take-out restaurant, and a farmer’s market. To date, it has six locations which are all based in various Texas cities. With this said, if you’re desperate to visit Eatzi’s, in the meantime the nearest location is based in Dallas. Having said this, it sounds like its return isn’t far off anyway.
