New Wine Bar & Pastry Shop opens in Toledo
Today, Toledo has welcomed a new bar that has just enjoyed its soft-opening. At this moment in time, the Golden Hind grand opening has not yet been confirmed. However, part of the soft-opening means that alcohol will not be served which may sound somewhat contradictory for a wine bar. Having said this, there is a good reason for this. According to their Instagram page: ‘Our Soft Opening will feature a limited menu & limited hours while we continue to acclimate to our new kitchen, train staff and await our liquor permit!’
As you may have figured, this doesn’t sound like your typical wine bar either, as it also has a bakery that serves sweet treats such as cookies and cakes.
Located on 915 N Summit St Suite 101, Toledo, OH 43604, the website reads: ‘We are two sisters who want to welcome you to our kitchen. Growing up, the kitchen was the heart of our home—we learned the art of baking right alongside walking and talking, and there were always wonderful, comforting smells coming out of the oven. The kitchen was where friends gathered, where wine was poured, and where a pot of tea could always be found waiting on the stove, ready to share. Meals were for lingering over to enjoy conversation and companionship, and friends both old and new were welcomed into our family around the table.’
Based on this, friendly vibes are to be expected. Overall, it will be very interesting to see how this venue performs. While wine bars are nothing new, the addition of serving pastries adds a strange twist that could see this place sink or swim.
