New Bar to open in Long Beach tomorrow

October 31, 2023 by No Comments

Earlier this year, Bar Envie, influenced by New Orleans vibes and situated in the Zaferia area, opened its doors. However, come November, it will undergo a transformation to become the second taproom for Long Beach Beer/Bread Lab.

The duo behind Bar Envie, Geoff and Karna Rau, have ownership stakes in seven other dining and drinking establishments, one of which is Selva, located nearby. They’ve recently acquired a residence in New Orleans and are keen on reducing their professional commitments to enjoy more leisure time there. It is due to open tomorrow.

On their Instagram page, they wrote: ‘LB Beer/Bread Lab is teaming up with ownership of Bar Envie starting November 1st! Opening date coming soon…’ This was accompanied by various photos of the inside and outside of the venue which looks like it’s ready for customers and lots of beer.

While the Raus are stepping back, they’ll still collaborate closely with Long Beach Beer Lab’s founders, Levi Fried and Harmony Sage Fried. This new taproom will be an extension of their original spot in the Wrigley area, which boasts a selection of over 20 unique beers on tap.

The ambiance of the new space will be enhanced by a mural from Alex Diffin, the resident artist at Beer Lab. Additionally, patrons can look forward to a refreshed menu, featuring pizzas courtesy of the Long Beach Bread Lab, a venture by Sage Fried. This update was shared via an Instagram announcement.

For those interested, Bar Envie’s address is 4000 E. Anaheim Street.
