Body found in suitcase in Lake Merritt
In a shocking and disturbing turn of events, the Oakland Fire Department has confirmed that human remains were discovered in a suitcase along the shores of Lake Merritt on Tuesday morning near Lakeshore & Hanover. The gruesome discovery was made by volunteers who were cleaning up the lake area and alerted authorities to the suitcase. It is not known how long the body was in the suitcase for and at this point, there are no details on the age or gender of the victim.
