Andy Beshear blasted over tone-deaf mansion comments
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear recently came under fire after tone-deaf comments made regarding Halloween at his residence. On his Twitter account, Beshear wished Kentuckians a happy Halloween. While this wasn’t a bad thing, the context of his post wasn’t exactly well thought through, as he also showed off the Governor’s Mansion complete with full decorations.
Here, his tweet read: ‘It’s spooky season at the Mansion!’ which generated over 40 replies. As you can imagine, many of these weren’t particularly positive either and used the platform to voice their criticisms towards the governor.
Here, one user named Seth replied by writing: “Hope you are enjoying your mansion, while the rest of us are losing our houses because of Legal sports betting,” as they clearly weren’t a fan of Beshear’s anti-gambling policies.
Another user named Allen Hampton also made a good point, adding: “Beshear doesn’t support US Fencing on the Southern Border. He only supports one in Frankfort” This was in reference to the large security gate surrounding Beshear’s mansion.
Lastly, another user quipped: “It’s been creepy there for almost 4 years now. Hopefully, an exorcism will take place on voting day.”
These are just a few of the many replies. Clearly, not everyone was happy with his post and based on this, Kentucky’s next governor election may be an interesting one.
