Kevin Stitt criticized over Oklahoma’s financial status

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt was recently criticized over his comments regarding the financial status of the state. In a very positive tweet, Stitt was proud after Oklahoma’s credit outlook was bumped up. However, not everyone viewed it in such a positive light and used his optimism to remind him that the state still had plenty of financial issues.

Specifically, Stitt’s statement read: ‘Oklahoma’s credit outlook was bumped up today. With our historic savings accounts, conservative fiscal policies, and my commitment to slow the growth of government, Oklahoma is well-positioned to face any financial challenge.’

In total, this created 57 responses. Although some of them were positive or neutral, there were many who disagreed with his positivity. One constituent named Alan Tegel replied: “Riddle me this then. If things are so good why are companies leaving. Michelin winds down tire production at Ardmore cuts 1,400 jobs”

Another user piped in and said: “Still takes months to get a driver’s license, healthcare or certifications, and years for disability, but hey, we saved a buck.”

In fact, there were many other comments that made a similar point. In fact, some were said in a far less diplomatic way. This shows that in life, nothing is simple and there are always different points of view. It also shows a rather divided Oklahoma state.
