Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves recently made some critical remarks against the Biden Administration. Here, he claimed that the public was controlled ‘over everything’ by the government and that he would ‘fight‘ while in power as the Mississippi governor.

This was written on his Twitter page, where Reeves wrote: ‘The Biden Administration thinks we’re all children. From COVID vaccine mandates to banning cigarettes. They want control over everything we do. In Mississippi, as long as I’m governor, we fight back.’

As you can imagine, this comment landed well with Republican voters and supporters of Reeves as many will undoubtedly agree with his views. However, his comments gained over 100 replies, with many of them clashing with his claims.

Responding to this, one constituent named Justin Childs quipped: “Weird stance. Menthols are okay, but bodily autonomy isn’t?” This was in relation to the state’s upcoming end to the prohibition of certain tobacco products available in Mississippi which gained Reeves a lot of flak.

Similarly, a user named Tracy wrote: “You’re controlling funds intended to help needy people and giving them to your millionaire buddies; you’re determined to strip girls and women of their autonomy and human rights; you are encouraging people to smoke while at the same time deciding who gets healthcare.”

These were just a few of many opposing comments aimed at Reeves. Clearly, there is a big divide in Mississippi. With upcoming elections for the next governor, the fate of Reeves’s future lies in the hands of the public.
