New Chinese Restaurant to open next month
A New York City favorite is set to open for business in Austin next month. Red Farm, is opening its first location outside of the Big Apple in downtown Austin. Chef Joe Ng, a dim sum master, is bringing his signature dishes like Peking duck, dumplings, and egg rolls to the Lone Star State.
The restaurant is partnering with Austin restaurateur Jesse Herman, and they’re aiming to open the doors on Nov. 8. at 201 W. Third St, a space previously inhabited by Cantina Laredo. The restaurant will be decked out with the iconic Red Farm flair, with a modern twist. Right now, dim sum is not on the menu but added at a later date.
News of the announcement was made on the official RedFarm Instagram page where they wrote: ‘Hello Austin! Reservations are now live for our new location at 201 W. 3rd St. Visit redfarmatx.com to make a reservation to come by for dinner starting November 8th’ alongside a picture of the new establishment.
This also included images inside the venue, and as you’d expect these were high quality, with no expense spared. Despite Austin’s food scene thriving in recent years, arguably it is still crying out for a decent dim sum spot to occupy the space left when Fortune vacated the city.
