Milwaukee Coffee Shop to close next month after 20 years of business

It’s official, Red Arrow Park Starbucks is closing down at the end of November. After nearly two decades of brewing up lattes and serving up warm pastries, the coffee giant is bidding farewell to its Milwaukee location at 920 N. Water St. This location was home to Starbucks for nearly twenty years which also made it one of the oldest in the city. Although people can sometimes be ambivalent about Starbucks, this particular store was a bit different due to its history and was a strong part of the coffee scene in the city.

The county park where Starbucks currently resides is now on the hunt for a new vendor after Starbucks passed on extending its lease. This means that financially speaking, the location may not have been achieving the numbers it once did. With this in mind, a new coffee store could potentially open at some point in the early stages of next year. At this point though, it is unknown what will replace it.

While Starbucks corporate hasn’t given any official word on the closure, locals are already mourning the loss of their go-to java joint. It’s a bittersweet goodbye, but here’s hoping the new vendor will keep the coffee flowing and the smiles coming into this cozy corner of Milwaukee. Until then, coffee lovers have still got one month left of this particular venue.
