Yesterday, a CH-53E military helicopter was seen flying south over The Hudson River in Jersey City. As seen in the image below, this chopper was fairly close to the high-rise buildings which would have been quite a sight for the office workers. In fairness, it’s not every day that you go to work and randomly see such an iconic aircraft near your tower block.

The CH-53 was photographed and shared on social media which quickly led to locals speculating on its reasons for visiting Jersey City of all places. The reason for its visit is probably due to the two surrounding military bases in the city, which is the Army Department on Chapel Ave and the National Guard armory elsewhere.

The CH-53E Super Stallion is a powerful military transport helicopter that has been a workhorse for the US Marine Corps since the 1980s. This chopper is incredibly powerful and is capable of lifting up to 55,000 pounds of cargo, which is equivalent to a small tank or a bunch of Marines and their gear.

The Super Stallion can also fly long distances with a full load, making it perfect for transporting troops and equipment to remote areas. It’s got three massive engines that give it the power to perform amazing feats, like flying over mountains and hauling heavy loads through challenging conditions.
