Preschool teachers attacked by ‘known’ beggar in front of kids
Yesterday, preschool teachers were assaulted by a man who was apparently known to the Washington DC police force after he begged them for money. This took place in front of the school kids while the teachers were walking with the children. According to an email sent out by Petit Scholars (based in Bloomingdale), the man left one teacher ‘beaten and bloody’. Furthermore, the statement read that ‘it was clear to them the man was on drugs or mentally ill’.
To make matters worse, this incident took place in front of a group of preschool children which shows just how extreme the attacker was. The news was originally shared on Reddit, where a user had uploaded a screenshot of the email which can be seen below.
The news was also confirmed by Councilmember Zachary Parker who called the attack ‘deeply disturbing’ before adding: ‘The assailant has been arrested, and is well-known in the community. It is believed he may have been suffering a mental health crisis, and we are looking into support services for him as well. We have flagged this incident for nearby schools (Dunbar, Friendship, and Mundo Verde).’
With this in mind, it is understood the culprit will now be charged and may face a more severe punishment compared to a regular assault, as this was done in front of preschool children. The case remains ongoing.
