Popular BBQ Restaurant finally opens in Pasadena after years of delays

October 24, 2023 by No Comments

Slab has finally opened in Pasadena. Its location is at 812 S. Arroyo Parkway after years in the making. Originally, this restaurant was set to open around 2020 but was delayed due to the pandemic. Since then, further delays have occurred and for some, the opening of Slab seemed like a bit of a myth. Despite this, it has recently opened and without much fanfare either.

The brainchild of founder Burt Bakman, Slab has several other locations across the West Coast and is known for serving BBQ food including brisket, ribs, mac n cheese, collard greens, and a variety of sauces. Another thing worth mentioning about this venue is that it’s quite small so you may have to eat outside if it’s extra busy. While this may not be an issue for some, it could be annoying in the colder months.

Although it has undergone its soft opening, the grand opening is later this week. On the Slab Instagram page, it says: ‘Join us for the SLAB Pasadena Grand Opening Party next Saturday, October 28th at 12pm. Music, giveaways, tasty BBQ, and much more. And bring the family!’

While this won’t be the first BBQ joint to open in Pasadena, it comes with a very popular reputation in surrounding areas. With this in mind, if you fancy yourself as a bit of a BBQ connoisseur then it may be worth paying Slab a visit.
