Numerous Long Beach residents have reported a fairly aggressive letter posted to homes in the Cal Heights neighborhood. Here, it threatens to egg people’s property unless they put out Halloween decorations on Halloween night. It also stresses that the letter is not a joke and that it should be taken seriously.

News of this first appeared on the Cal Heights Nextdoor app, where a number of residents reported receiving the same letter which was posted through their letter boxes. A photo of the letter was then posted on Reddit, which further explained the situation. The letter can be seen in full below.

According to the Reddit user who uploaded the image, the culprit was also caught on camera, which could lead to a bigger altercation. They wrote: ‘Not my picture, not my neighborhood. (Cal Heights) this has been floating around on Nextdoor for a couple of days. I guess a bunch of naked houses on Olive have been getting them. It’s funny until it’s not. Several folks have the person on camera leaving the note. The person is gonna meet that one or two neighbors that’s gonna escalate this into something where someone gets hurt.’

It goes without saying that some people aren’t into celebrating Halloween and this is perfectly fine. Responding to the letter, others felt this way and criticized the anonymous letter which even used curse words to show its aggression. Hopefully, this is just a bluff and nothing serious happens over the next week.
