Atomic Monster Weekend Suddenly Canceled – And people aren’t happy

Numerous vendors, who invested substantial sums for booth spaces at the inaugural Atomic Monster Weekend scheduled to take place at the Sheraton Mesa Hotel in Wrigleyville West from October 27 to 29, find themselves questioning the event’s organizer.

Regrettably, the event’s official website is currently inaccessible, although tickets are still being offered through alternative platforms. Vendors report contacting the event venue and being informed that the convention’s organizer had purportedly called it off. It appears that this is not the first time the individual behind Atomic Monster Weekend has taken such action.

According to Eventbrite, the event was described as saying “Hey Horror Fans! You’re invited to the scariest mad monster party of the century! Get spooked and enjoy the three-day festivities. Two floors including vendors, celebrity guests, live performances, panels, Monster Kid museum, demos, horror-themed tropical tiki drinks, photo ops, independent horror movie screenings & much more!”

Conversely, the organizer contends that due to a family emergency, the event is being postponed to next April. Furthermore, they assert that they have no intention of absconding with vendors’ funds. Nevertheless, vendors claim they have made repeated attempts to reach the organizer for clarification but have received no responses, leaving them skeptical of the explanation.

In response to this predicament, some vendors have escalated their concerns to the police, while others have lodged complaints with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office. Currently, the situation remains dynamic and raises more questions than it provides answers.
