Hungry Howie’s Pizza is certainly different when compared to its Detroit contemporaries. Here, it uses bright colors and pink pizza boxes when serving customers. Locals may be used to this sort of marketing from the pizzeria. However, they recently released a very strange pizza topping that is only available through their secret recipe when ordering from their app.

This involves the option of using a tie-dye glitter topping which makes the pizza look green and blue, as opposed to the usual yellow and red colors that are typically associated with pizzas. Aside from this edible glitter gimmick, it is still basically a regular margarita pizza. A fairly recent addition to the menu, this was confirmed on Reddit where a curious customer enquired about it after stumbling across it online. The screenshot can be seen below.

Interestingly, one Reddit user believed this was some kind of myth. However, the pizza has been seen in real life. Not only this but one worker also confirmed that it was real. Here, they wrote: “As someone who works there, the glitter burns pretty bad in the oven and the end result is MUCH darker colors than the ones shown in that picture. I’ve only seen like 2 or 3 of them in a month or so they’ve been around so at least people aren’t actually ordering it.”

Located at E Lafayette St, it seems as though this very bizarre pizza is also very real. However, other than being used as a publicity stunt, it doesn’t seem to have much substance.
