Popular Pizzaria & Brewery Theater announces it’s up for sale
A well-known local gathering spot is now on the market, marking the end of a successful 25-year run. On October 19th, the partners of Asheville Pizza & Brewing Co. officially announced the sale of their unique establishment, which combines a restaurant, brewery, and movie theater, located at 675 Merrimon Avenue.
The company was originally established back in 1995 and initially operated out of a smaller venue on Merrimon Avenue. In 1998, the business made the move to its current location. Mike Rangel, one of the co-owners, expressed their readiness to explore new opportunities and shift their focus to other ventures. Their portfolio includes other well-established businesses like Asheville T-Shirt Company and the Rabbit Rabbit music venue.
The announcement was made on their Instagram account, which read: ‘After 25 years of making award winning, amazing pizzas creating one of the coolest independent cinemas in the South, and getting to be a small but special part of this magical town, we have decided to put our unique pizza restaurant and movie theater combo up for sale; we have decided to start looking now for the next fun group to keep the party going!’
It’s important to note that Asheville Pizza & Brewing Co. operates two additional locations at 77 Coxe Ave. in downtown Asheville and 1850 Hendersonville Road in South Asheville. These locations will remain open, and the sale exclusively pertains to the Merrimon Avenue establishment.
From a financial perspective, the business is in a healthy state and enjoyed a profitable year with a positive outlook for 2024, according to Rangel. The partners are actively seeking an Asheville area resident who is committed to maintaining the establishment as a family-friendly destination for the next 25 years.
