Italian Fast Food Restaurant to open in Detroit later this year

Known for its delectable Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef sandwiches, char-grilled burgers, and mouthwatering chocolate cake, this new Portillo’s restaurant will be situated in Livonia, within Metro Detroit. You can find it in Millennium Park at the crossroads of I-96 and Middlebelt Road.
Portillo’s introduced its first Michigan eatery at 14425 Lakeside Circle in Sterling Heights in March 2021. Since then, there had been unofficial reports about a second location, and now the location has been officially confirmed.
The Livonia branch will have a distinctive garage theme. In contrast, the Sterling Heights Portillo’s boasts a Michigan auto and music theme, featuring a collection of vintage signs and historical memorabilia, with a 1931 Model T suspended above the dining area.
The Livonia restaurant will encompass 7,900 square feet, providing a spacious dining room with seating for over 175 patrons. Additionally, it will offer a seasonal outdoor patio accommodating around 50 more guests. The establishment will also include a designated carry-out area and a double drive-thru setup.
While an exact opening date hasn’t been specified, the restaurant is anticipated to commence serving delectable dishes before the year’s end.
