The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking two individuals responsible for a recent theft at a firearms store and shooting range. Last week, at approximately 5:30 a.m. on October 12, the incident transpired at the Florida Firearms Academy located at 13317 W Hillsborough Ave, according to statements from sheriff’s authorities. Thankfully, the shop was not open at this time, as otherwise, it could have led to a serious altercation.

Surveillance footage captured the moment when the two suspects forcibly broke the store’s front window. During the break-in, they managed to make off with a total of five rifles and shotguns, as reported by the sheriff’s office. Unfortunately, the CCTV didn’t capture the identity of the thieves as their identities were concealed by face masks and hoods.

It’s noteworthy that the perpetrators were unable to gain full access to the premises due to the presence of security bars on the building. Subsequently, the individuals hastily retreated to a nearby vehicle on Memorial Highway following the burglary, as confirmed by officials. Unfortunately, this crime could snowball into other crimes due to the nature of illegal firearms and what they are typically used for.
