Woody’s Wing House announces permanent closure

Following the closure of its West Side establishment in the summer of 2022, Woody’s Wing House has now ceased operations at its inaugural storefront. As per an official announcement shared on its social media platforms, Woody’s has shuttered its flagship eatery in Worthington, which had been the sole location under the brand.

News of the closure was first mentioned on Reddit, where a Columbus local managed to take a photograph of a sign on the front door. Here, it read ‘We are closed forever.’

This particular restaurant was situated at 161 E. Campus View Blvd. Based on the graphic permits that have been granted by the city of Columbus, it has been confirmed that the property is in the process of being prepared for the construction of a brand-new Sheetz gas station and convenience store. This 2-acre site underwent a rezoning process last autumn to make way for the establishment of a gas station.

Woody’s also announced the closure, writing: ‘After much deliberation, our ownership group has made the very difficult decision to close the doors of our flagship Worthington location, effective immediately.’

While this marks the conclusion of Woody’s current chapter, the statement also indicates that there remains a possibility of the concept resurfacing in the future with the establishment of a new location, aiming to breathe new life into Woody’s.
