You know property prices have gone a little wild in Oakland when this cabin has been listed on Zillow for an eye-watering $124,900. This is described on the listing as a ‘tiny house’ which is permitted for use on its current piece of land, and the term tiny is very apt. In fact, the listing doesn’t even mention how big it is which is perhaps a very telling sign of its size.

Aside from this, there generally isn’t too much information. However, pictures show a rather modern bathroom (complete with toilet and shower), and a matching kitchen which is also not bad. This cabin may also have some kind of small bedroom in the middle but this has not been pictured or disclosed. It looks to be created from a shipping container, so you would imagine it was 20 feet in size. It also comes with large windows and solar panels on top, so at least it’s efficient in terms of energy use.

Perhaps one of the reasons for the price is based on the land. According to the listing, it is 8,712 which is a sizeable amount. So, it’s not just the cabin. Interestingly, this was originally listed in 2022 for $169,000 which represented $19 per sqft, whereas now it is at $14 per sqft. Based on the unusual nature of this deal, it will be interesting to see if it actually sells though.
