New Video Game Arcade opens in St. Petersburg

October 18, 2023 by No Comments

Back in the 1980s and early 1990s, Florida was crawling with video game arcades. These had an array of SEGA and Nintendo consoles to play on for hours, and would usually house teenagers willing to spend their last quarter on one last game. Since then, this sight has become almost extinct. However, a new business just had its soft opening in St. Petersburg, which is called Neon Dreams.

This is filled with various arcade machines from yesteryear so if you want to re-live your glory years then it’s now possible. The soft opening costs visitors $8 for unlimited plays, and its grand opening takes place on October 28th. This will cost customers $15 for an entire day pass. The arcade also claims that it will eventually serve alcohol, however this has not yet been finalized.

More information can be found on the official Instagram page which shows an array of various arcade machines from the past. Here, they have fighting games, racing games, and side-scrolling classics, as well as artwork on the walls that depict various gaming characters from the same era. So far, the arcade has achieved a plethora of positive reviews on the back of its soft opening, so the early signs look good.

It can be found at 11100 66th St N, Largo, FL 33773 and its opening hours are Sun 12:30-6:00, Mon-Thurs 12:00 PM-11:00 PM, Fri & Sat: 12:00 -12:00
