Garlishious Deli to open in Fresno on Saturday
A fresh flavor will make its first appearance in Downtown Fresno as Garlishious Deli unveils its grand opening. This sandwich shop places a strong emphasis on utilizing the freshest ingredients, top-quality meats, cheeses, and a unique condiment that the owner believes will keep customers coming back for more.
The debut of Garlishious Deli is set to take place at 2621 Fresno St. Suite A. The soft launch is scheduled for this Saturday, October 21, running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Following this, a grand opening event will occur on Monday, October 23, also from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Afterward, the deli will operate under its regular hours, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays.
The deli will prominently feature its signature garlic-based spread, known as Garlish, which is free of gluten, dairy, and nuts. According to Karla Lugo, the owner of Garlishious Deli, this spread is sure to win hearts and pairs well with a wide variety of dishes.
Locally, Garlish spread is readily available at Fresno and Clovis Meat Markets and The Market located at Herndon and West avenues. It can also be found at B L Quality Meats in Visalia. Despite challenges posed by the pandemic that delayed the deli’s launch, the demand for Garlish remained strong among both customers and suppliers, leading to a continuous presence of Garlish products on store shelves.
After a year and a half of renovations, kitchen expansions, and other necessary preparations for opening a new business, Garlishious Deli aspires to become a beloved establishment in Downtown Fresno. Their menu will include 6-inch and 12-inch sandwiches, as well as wraps, salads, and soups. In addition, they will offer vegan and gluten-free alternatives.
In addition to introducing a brand-new flavor, fans of Garlish spread will have the opportunity to enjoy a special seasonal treat. Lugo revealed that the deli’s opening weekend may feature the “Horsekicker,” a horseradish-infused version of Garlish’s spread. For those who prefer not to indulge in the strong garlic flavor, the deli will also create custom-made sandwiches without the Garlish spread, tailored to individual preferences.
Besides made-to-order sandwiches, Garlishious Deli will provide ready-made sandwiches for quick grab-and-go pickups. They will also offer a selection of beverages, snacks, and, of course, their signature Garlish spread.
