Recently, the celebrity-owned burger establishment known as Wahlburgers, associated with the Wahlberg family hailing from both Boston and Hollywood, has shut down its sole Texas-based restaurant.

Situated at The Star in Frisco, this restaurant first welcomed patrons in October 2019. Founded by brothers Mark, Donnie, and renowned chef Paul Wahlberg, Wahlburgers offered a diverse menu featuring burgers, sandwiches, sides, specialty beverages, sloppy joes, sandwiches, tater tots, and “Wahlbowls.”

Furthermore, they boasted a complete bar service, offering a variety of cocktails, wine, and beer. The restaurant’s décor incorporated photographs and memorabilia commemorating the Wahlberg brothers’ journey from their Dorchester neighborhood beginnings to becoming prominent chefs and international celebrities.

Mark Wahlberg, a prominent figure, even made an appearance at a Dallas Cowboys training camp to announce Wahlburgers’ debut in Texas. Wahlberg has established his presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, being a partner in Flecha Azul Tequila and making two visits to DFW in 2023, once in March and again in September, to promote the brand. In a recent statement, a spokesman said: “It just wasn’t doing enough business to keep it open.” At the moment, it is not known what will replace Wahlburgers. However, it seems as though the local population enjoyed dining there based on positive online reviews.
