New Comic Book Shop to open in Greensboro in late October
These days, dedicated comic book shops are quite rare and are usually associated with a bygone era. However, Acme Comics has been operating in Greensboro since 1983 and claims to be the city’s original store.
Recently, they announced on their Instagram page that they will be opening a new store downtown on October 28th, which is just days away from Halloween night. In other words, if you’re a local nerd then it is an awesome time of the year to visit and you may be able to snag a comic or two. The new location can be found at 335 S Davie St and its official opening will begin at 12 PM, with the store closing at 7 PM.
The announcement was made on their Instagram and they said: “Are you gonna be there?! We have a ton of incredible surprises in store and you won’t want to miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be one of the first people through the doors of the NEW Acme Comics location coming to downtown Greensboro!”
Over the years, Acme Comics has turned into something of a Greensboro institution and has served the community for decades. Because of this, it will be interesting to see how their new location gets on and whether it can follow in the footsteps of its predecessor.
