Locals angered after brazen thieves steal Halloween decorations
Recently, a bunch of thieves decided to steal Halloween decorations in the dead of night. What’s bizarre about this robbery is that the item stolen wasn’t particularly valuable and was quite bulky, meaning it was problem stolen out of spite rather than financial gain. This occurred at the Platinum Triangle, near Core apartments in Anaheim.
The robbery was captured by a Ring doorbell. Unfortunately though, the thieves concealed their identity and their vehicle was out of view. Not only this but due to the nighttime darkness, it would have been difficult to identify them anyway even if they showed their faces in full.
Speaking on Reddit, the victim said this about the robbery: ‘Really bummed that we can’t have anything nice here. I had my inflatable Oogie Boogie stolen from outside my home this AM. Just 5 hood rats with nothing better to do at 2 AM. Be alert and don’t put anything you want to keep outside.’
Perhaps what’s most bizarre about this crime is how a total of 5 people decided to steal a novelty item. With this said, it looks like this year’s Halloween story came a few weeks early and the monsters were actually humans. On a serious note, this also shows why less people are leaving out decorations compared to years gone by.
