The highly anticipated upcoming West Side Bazaar’s new location, set to open on October 31st, boasts several remarkable enhancements. This new venue, situated at 1432 Niagara St., occupies a revitalized two-story 1920s building, which is five times larger than its previous location. It will now offer twice as many diverse food options and more than double the seating capacity.

The ground floor of this refurbished building will house various retail shops, while the second floor will be designated for offices. However, the primary allure of the West Side Bazaar remains its international culinary offerings. Eight distinct restaurants will showcase a rich variety of global cuisines, including Vietnamese, Burmese, Italian, Egyptian, African, Japanese, Malaysian, and Korean delicacies. This popular international food court is predominantly owned by Buffalo’s immigrant and refugee community.

Spanning 16,000 square feet and featuring skylights, this new location is a significant departure from its previous home on Grant St., which closed due to an accidental fire approximately 13 months ago, coinciding with the commencement of construction at the new site.

The upstairs space and a small stage on the first floor will transform this establishment into a cultural center for performances and family events. The second floor will accommodate service offices, such as counseling services and a driving school, as part of WEDI’s mission as a small-business incubator. Notably, over 70% of West Side Bazaar businesses are owned by refugees, and nearly 70% of these businesses are owned by women.

Since its inception in 2011, the West Side Bazaar has been instrumental in launching 48 small businesses, with over 20 of them subsequently moving to other locations. Operating hours for the new location will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays through Saturdays, with ample parking available on both sides of Niagara Street and nearby streets.
