Mexican Restaurant ‘coming soon’ to popular Memphis location
The Former Nineteenth Century Club location on Union Avenue is soon to be occupied by a high-end Mexican restaurant known as Tekila. This will be Tekila’s second location in the city, as they are currently located at 6343 Getwell Rd, Southaven. The previous occupant of the building, Red Hook, ceased its operations on Sunday, October 8th
Interestingly, this location has been somewhat cursed in recent years and has acted as a proverbial revolving door for various restaurants that have tried their hand at making it a successful spot. Because of this, it will be interesting to see how Tekila performs here.
Tekila Modern Mexican is a family-owned and operated dining establishment that specializes in crafting contemporary interpretations of Mexican culinary classics. Its menu showcases the fusion of various ingredients and a deep-rooted inspiration drawn from the rich tapestry of authentic Mexican gastronomy. This combination results in the creation of innovative, vibrant flavors that capture the essence of Mexico.
It also includes a selection of handcrafted cocktails, house-made sangrias, and a carefully curated array of agave spirits, wines, and locally sourced draft beers. While an exact opening date hasn’t been given it is understood that it will open at the end of this year or early next year. The current location is currently open 7 days a week.
