Yesterday, Come Back Inn closed its doors for the last time. This came just days after a social media announcement that shocked the Louisville community. Such was the impact of the announcement, is that it garnered nearly 400 comments and over 800 likes on their Facebook page. Clearly, this restaurant had made a big impact on the local people.

Part of this was due to its age, as Come Back Inn was first founded at the address 909 Swan St. back in 1996. Since then, it has gone strong through multiple recessions, and a pandemic. However, it is now permanently closed. Speaking of which, according to the founder of Come Back Inn, the reason for its closure is because the building’s owner has plans to sell, while COVID-19 has obliterated the restaurant’s catering arm, which relied heavily on corporate office lunches.

Over the years, Come Back Inn gained hundreds of positive reviews online and was seen as one of Louisville’s most longstanding Italian restaurants. As well as having a sad ending, it also highlights that sometimes you just don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes with certain businesses. Nonetheless, it’s fair to say that it had a good run. For now at least, it looks like this Inn won’t be coming back.
