A forthcoming data center campus is in the planning stages for the Fort Wayne, Indiana area. Recent reports indicate that an undisclosed Fortune 100 corporation is in the process of designing a sprawling 772-acre campus situated between Fort Wayne and New Haven, located to the east in Allen County.

The project, referred to as ‘Project Zodiac,’ encompasses the development of a data center campus with boundaries defined by East Tillman Road, Adams Center Road, and adjacent railroad tracks. Preliminary site plan documentation suggests the potential construction of up to 12 structures, although specific building details and overall site capacity remain undisclosed at this juncture. At this moment in time, the identity of the company remains unknown.

The land in question is described as a combination of farmland, privately-owned parcels, and city-owned property, bisected by East Paulding Road. The developer of this project is purportedly a Fortune 100 company renowned for its global data center campus operations.

Notably, Jonathan Leist, the deputy executive director at the city’s Department of Redevelopment, is recorded as the owner of 7301 Paulding Road, encompassing five land parcels. With the exception of the Indiana Michigan Power Company’s presence at 6701 Adams Center Road, the remainder of the parcels mentioned in the application are privately held.

The majority of the land involved necessitates a rezoning process, transitioning from agricultural use to the designation of BTI (business, technology, and industrial park) in order to accommodate the intended development.
