Spotted at Foodland this week, this Ahi Poke definitely stands out as one of the most costly options available for purchase in Hawaii’s grocery stores. Priced at $34.99 per pound, it isn’t exactly a bargain and shows the rising food prices that have been seen in Hawaii over the past year.

Promoted as a ‘Maika’i special,’ its initial visual appeal was less than stellar, and the high price tag likely contributed to the fact that the tray appeared relatively untouched. It raises the question of whether anyone actually bought it before the day was over.
