New Brewery to open in Pittsburgh

Seven years after its inception, Allegheny City Brewing, situated on the North Side of the city, has garnered such a significant following that it is embarking on a substantial expansion of its brewing and taproom operations. Ground has been broken for a brand-new, standalone taproom and beer garden, strategically positioned near its current Foreland Street location. Concurrently, the existing site will undergo transformation into a dedicated brewing production facility.

Previously confined to a mere 600 square feet of space, the brewery is poised to expand to a sprawling 4,800 square feet, thanks to the addition of the new taproom and adjacent beer garden. This expansion will facilitate the inclusion of a greater number of taps compared to the brewery’s current offerings.

Moreover, the upcoming venue will incorporate a kitchen, although it won’t be operational right away. According to reports from Breweries in PA, the brewing company intends to maintain its partnership with local food trucks while actively seeking a collaborator to oversee the kitchen operations. The anticipated completion date for this expansion project is set for late spring.

Overall, it will be interesting to see how this location gets on. Having said this, if it’s anything like it’s predecessor then Pittsburgh locals should be happy to get yet another great brewery.
