Nashville-style hot chicken is set to make its Westport debut this October, all the way from Los Angeles. Dave’s Hot Chicken is preparing to launch its second location in the Kansas City metropolitan area, situated in a commercial space at the southwest corner of the Westley on Broadway apartment development, located at the intersection of Broadway and Westport Road.

Originating as a pop-up eatery in a parking lot in East Los Angeles six years ago, this fast-growing franchise found fame when an LA Times blogger hailed its fiery dishes, catapulting its popularity.

The first Dave’s Hot Chicken location in the Kansas City area recently opened in Overland Park at 9097 Metcalf. It has proven to be so successful that the Nebraska-based owners of the regional franchise have decided to pace themselves with the opening of the Westport branch.

According to the company’s official website, Dave’s Hot Chicken’s rapid expansion is fueled by a devoted fanbase, evidenced by people making cross-state pilgrimages to savor its delectable offerings.

Their menu remains refreshingly uncomplicated, focusing primarily on succulent chicken tenders and sliders coated in their signature hot chicken recipe—a culinary tradition with deep roots in Nashville for many years.

Over the past few years, a high number of chicken shops have seemingly opened in Kansas City which shows the high demand for this style of cuisine in recent times.
