On Sunday night, an incident occurred in an Omaha parking lot that has become a popular gathering spot for car enthusiasts and exhibition drivers. A car collided with a haunted house attraction, causing significant damage. The collision, which happened at 11:15 p.m., resulted in the front of Shadow’s Edge, a temporary Halloween attraction located outside Mangelsen’s craft store near 84th and Frederick Streets, being knocked down.

Additionally, the haunted house’s fire sprinkler system was harmed, according to the owner of Shadow’s Edge, Scott Murphy. Fortunately, the attraction was unoccupied at the time of the accident, but it will need to remain closed for repairs until Friday. The Omaha police are currently investigating the incident as a hit-and-run. As of the time of writing, the culprit has still yet to be found.

Speaking on a Facebook post, The Shadow’s Edge owner Scott thanked members of the Omaha community for helping out since the damage was initiated.

This incident highlights the clash between the interests of enthusiastic car enthusiasts and the presence of a shopping center in close proximity to residential neighborhoods, hosting a seasonal attraction that attracts a significant crowd during October.

The good news is that this attraction will be fully operational by Friday when it plans to host a Halloween-themed drive-in. This will be the final season of the haunted house before it closes permanently after 20 years of business.
