A collision involving a truck and the Onondaga Lake Parkway took place on Tuesday morning, marking another incident within a week of the previous bridge strike occurrence. According to reports from the Onondaga County 911 Center, the bridge was impacted at approximately 11:10 a.m.

The vehicle involved in the incident is registered to American Moving and Hauling Inc., a North Carolina-based moving company. Preliminary observations suggest that the truck suffered minor damage to its upper structure. New York State Troopers were dispatched to the scene for further investigation.

Evidence of the damage was documented on Twitter, where one user snapped a photo and wrote: “For the second time in less than a week, a truck coming from Liverpool to Syracuse hit the railroad bridge over Onondaga Lake Parkway. The moving company is from North Carolina.”

As per information provided by the New York State Police, the operator of the truck responsible for the bridge collision emerged from the incident unharmed and was subsequently issued a total of 10 citations.

Over the years, The Onondaga Parkway Bridge has earned folklore status within the Syracuse community due to destroying a number of trucks that try and fail to drive under it. As a result, it even has a Facebook group with over 10,000 members who are dedicated to reporting on the bridge and its involvement with damaging trucks.
