Phoenix Bar closes – And this time it’s for good

The Lost Leaf has recently changed ownership once again, but this time, there are no intentions to resurrect it under the same name. In fact, it doesn’t look like it will be re-opening as a bar at all. The last closure occurred in early June of this year. Despite claiming it was a ‘brief hiatus’ on Instagram, this unfortunately was not the case.

The quaint 1920s bungalow located just south of the vibrant Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix had been shuttered since early June. On September 29th, the establishment found a new owner in Chase Brendle, known for his association with Lacuna Kava Bar, which already boasts locations in Phoenix and Sedona. According to the previous proprietor, the new owner’s vision for the space involves transforming it into a coffee shop.

During its run, the venue also saw positive reviews online which showed perhaps how much this place will be dearly missed by Phoenix locals.

The Lost Leaf first opened its doors in 2006, when former owners Eric Dahl and Tato Caraveo relocated their gallery into the bungalow from its original location above Emerald Lounge on Seventh Avenue and McDowell Road in Phoenix. Over the years, it changed hands and experienced multiple reopenings. Unfortunately, it appears that this iconic bar has now permanently closed its doors, leaving its loyal patrons with no hope of a future revival.
