Buffalo Pizzeria quietly closes – But is it for good?

Bocce Club Pizza on 235 Delaware Ave has quietly closed down. Unless you’ve been there in person, you may not be aware of this as it hasn’t been reported in the media. Similarly, the Bocce Pizza chain has not mentioned its closure on social media either. Despite this, their other Buffalo locations have remained open. Typically, when a restaurant closes there is at least some kind of announcement but this was not the case here.

Interestingly, the establishment is now listed as closed on Google which is telling of its fate. However, if you did pass by in person then you may have noticed the ‘closed for remodeling signs’ in the windows. This sparked a discussion on Reddit as to the goings-on about this particular venue. Here, a local who worked in the area said this: “I work downtown we called there to order lunch for the office one day, they said they were closed for the summer. But yes, agreed. It’s not as good as the original!”

Despite this, another user from the area had this to say: “There’s already a new store there. Yes, businesses were definitely impacted by Covid, but it’s not nearly as bleak as you’re making it sound. People are rebuilding, new businesses are opening. It’s not all doom and gloom.”

With this said, its closure leaves more questions than it does answers. If nothing else, this serves as an example of transparency from local businesses as there’s a lot of confusion surrounding the future of this particular venue.
