Yesterday, an eagle-eyed Orange County resident spotted a new addition to the HB and Westminster sign. Here, below the Target logo, it said ‘H Mart coming soon’. Interestingly, one internet sleuth claimed that this store would be opening in 2024. However, aside from this rumor, there is no concrete evidence supporting this claim.

The original image was uploaded to Reddit which is where the claim of it opening in 2024 was also put forward. Currently, H Mart has a few locations dotted around the Orange County area. With this said, it looks as though this will be their latest location but may not be open for at least a few months which is standard practice among big corporations and new locations.

H Mart, initially founded in 1982 by Il Yeon Kwon as a small store in Woodside, Queens, New York, has grown into a prominent chain of Korean-American supermarkets. It specializes in offering an extensive selection of Korean and Asian groceries and food products. Inside H Mart stores, you’ll discover a diverse array of offerings, including fresh produce like fruits and vegetables, a wide range of pantry staples such as sauces, spices, rice, and noodles commonly used in Asian cuisine.
