Last night, the China Cook restaurant in Hayward got burglarized. This is shown in the below photo, which highlights the glass broken on the front door. Here, someone had smashed the front door to gain entry and eventually taken off after raiding the shop.

The photo was originally uploaded to Reddit, where the user who took the snap said this: “I was picking up a bulk order of rice at China cook this morning and they told me 2 people broke into their store overnight. This took place in Hayward, the police sent one officer and he didn’t care. He literally said “not much we can do about it ” and left after about 5 minutes. Wasn’t just them it was the store next to them as well, maybe it’ll be on the news later maybe it won’t.”

With this said, it looks like it wasn’t just China Cook who got burglarized either. This highlights the growing level of crime in Hayward and the Bay Area in general. Regardless, hopefully China Cook didn’t lose too much money from this robbery and can move on from the incident quickly. As for the thieves, it doesn’t look like the China Cook owner is holding out for much in terms of an investigation.
