Yesterday evening, a car drove into the front of the liquor store at Speer and Federal. It is understood that there were no fatalities with this incident although an ambulance was present at the scene. It goes without saying that under different circumstances, someone could have easily died due to the collision between the vehicle and the shop entrance. Despite the car clearly making quite a physical impact, this would have entered through the car park which makes you wonder how the driver managed to generate such speed in such a short space.

The image was originally uploaded to Reddit where users speculated on the aftermath of the incident and hoped that the owners were ok.

One local who was there in person claimed this is what happened: “I saw a shirtless guy get handcuffed and put in the car. No idea how the car got that angle that fast, if anyone saw it happen I would be curious to know what happened. Hopefully, things will work out financially for the owners. They’re an older couple, and putting the store back together is gonna be a task.”

To make matters worse, this is one of the oldest, family-owned liquor businesses in Denver. With this in mind, hopefully the building is fixed quickly and the insurance isn’t too high as a result of the crash.
