New Barbecue Restaurant opens in Cincinnati

A fresh barbecue establishment is set to welcome patrons in Over-the-Rhine just opened yesterday (Thursday 28th September).

Bee’s Barbecue is gearing up to inaugurate its second venue, taking over the former Pontiac BBQ location at 1403 Vine St. The initial branch of the restaurant, which opened its doors in Madisonville in 2021, gained renown for its exceptional craft barbecue, boasting an array of meats such as their renowned smoked brisket and pulled pork, as well as offering a jackfruit alternative for those seeking a meatless option. The opening was announced on their Instagram page.

Bee’s Barbecue is striving to create a relaxed, community-centric gathering place—a prime spot for catching a Bengals game or enjoying drinks and dinner after a day’s work. The OTR location’s menu will feature some variations compared to Madisonville’s, with sandwiches like the Bowling Alley BLT or Brisket Philly becoming permanent fixtures rather than limited-time specials. These sandwiches are served on amoroso rolls and pair wonderfully with Bee’s signature sides, including creamy mac & cheese, coleslaw, and honey cornbread.

The complete menu will be available until 9 p.m., at which point the restaurant will transition to its bar menu, featuring items such as wings, fries, deep-fried deviled eggs, pickle dip with wavy chips, and a barbecue charcuterie board. The bar menu will remain accessible until closing time.

Bee’s Barbecue will typically operate from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. most days, except for Sundays when it will open at noon for Bengals’ games. Please note that the restaurant will be closed on Tuesdays. You can find Bee’s Barbecue at two locations: 5910 Chandler St. in Madisonville and 1403 Vine St. in Over-the-Rhine.
