Construction on the second phase of the X Phoenix apartment tower at the intersection of Third Avenue and Van Buren Street in downtown Phoenix has suddenly ceased. The proprietors of X Phoenix have acknowledged the suspension of construction, yet they have chosen not to disclose the reasons behind this unexpected pause in the midst of erecting a 25-story tower comprising 592 beds. The location of the project is based at 3rd Avenue and Van Buren Street.

The initial completion date for this project was set for next year. Executives representing Clayco, the project’s general contractor, have similarly opted not to provide details regarding the cessation of construction. However, they have clarified that the halt is unrelated to any financial challenges faced by Clayco. In other words, the stoppage is currently shrouded in mystery as there is no available information as to why progress has suddenly halted.

In recent years, the downtown area of Phoenix has had a number of large construction projects and this looked like business as usual. It is believed that after its completion, the X Phoenix building would have been one of the most prestigious buildings in the city when it comes to high-rise living. Having said this, time will tell whether this gets completed by its deadline or whether fate has different plans for its future.
